I can't believe that Riley starts FIRST GRADE tomorrow! I am so happy that he is becoming such a big boy but so sad at the same time! He is going to be in school all day long. I worry about this a lot! I worry about him being in a new school and making new friends. I worry that the day is going to be so long for him! I worry that he is not going to know what to do on the first few days of school. Is he going to know how to get his lunch? Will he be scared? Will he show what he knows or be too shy? The one thing that I am excited about is that he is going to be going to the school that I teach at! He is going to be in the classroom right next to me! How exciting. He will come to school with me and go home with me! I will get to see him on his first day of school and I will get to see him at all of our special events! He is very excited and so am I. He wanted to come to my school last year, but I wanted him to give the school in our neighborhood a try last year. I wanted him to meet some neighborhood kids. He still wanted to come to school with me this year and I gave him that choice and secretly I am glad that he made the choice that he did. Tomorrow he starts school! Aiden will be at Becca's house ALL day! ALL BY HIMSELF!!! I am a little bit worried about this. Aiden has always had his brother there. Despite the fact that they argue, Aiden looks up to his brother sooo much! Big changes are happening here!
Other changes happening here...our basement has been leaking. Literally, water is seeping in under the crawl space and on the south side of the house! Our sump pump has been working and the basket is dry! Completely...D.R.Y.!!!! Our neighbors water their lawn...it leaks in our house. It sprinkles a drop. It leaks in our house. We called the city to come out and make sure that we had no leaks in any pipes. We don't. So...we have major problems. We have two different companies coming out this week. They are going to give us estimates on what to do. One quote was $10,000!!! I freaked and haven't been sleeping since. We don't have that kind of money laying around. We really don't know what to do! One company thinks that they may have to dig around the house and lay new drainage tile. One company says that they may be able to do something by digging into the concrete. We'll let you know. We have talked about all different options of getting rid of the house...but we have to fix it first of all! We are both so tired of things going wrong here! What a headache it has been! Let us know if any of you know people that know how to fix basements or lay more drainage tile.
