Epi-Pen Training

When Aiden was 4 months old, we found out that he had food allergies. Some of the foods are severe and some of the foods he has been cleared from and may eat again. Peanuts are a huge one right now. We carry an EPI-PEN with us when we travel or go to certain places. One morning this week, I was cleaning out the medicine cabinet and Aiden wanted to know what the EPI-PENS were. I explained to him what they were for and when he would have to use them. I explained this to both Riley and Aiden, figuring they should both know how to use them. We then practiced with the trainers what we would have to do if Aiden had an allergic reaction and started to not be able to breathe. Riley has been very helpful and has been very aware of what his brother can and cannot eat since he was little...we figured we should train him as well.

Fun in the Sun

Riley and Aiden swimming in their pool!

Colton, Aiden and Riley sun bathing on the deck!

Cousins! Aiden, Colton and Riley hanging out!

Cousins! Aiden, Colton, Taylor and Riley after playing in the sun!

Riley and Aiden's cousins are here visiting. Colton is here for the summer and Taylor is leaving on Saturday. Today we took advantage of the nice weather and played outside. They swam in the pool, ran through the sprinkler and laid in the sun (sun bathing). The boys had so much fun together. While in the house, the boys are having fun playing the wii and Nintendo DS.

Walking With Dinosaurs

Mommy and Aiden before the show.

Aiden loved looking at the lights. He wanted me to take pictures of them!

We couldn't take flash pictures during the show...so I had to take these with my camera phone.

This was Riley's favorite part...the T-Rex.

Aiden, Riley and Daddy.

Riley and Daddy. Very eager to see the show.

Riley

Aiden was so tired after the show. He fell asleep on the way home and slept almost all night!

Last night we went to see Walking With Dinosaurs. The boys loved it. They loved the part where two of the dinosaurs faught. I would recommend that anyone go see it!

Summer Vacation

Riley and I at one of his soccer games. Riley started soccer again in the spring and has been doing very well! He loves it. He will be playing soccer in the summer again.

Aiden started soccer on a 4 year old team. During the second practice, he was laying on the ground saying that his legs were too tired and he didn't want to play! He liked going to his night games, because he said that he was a night owl...but hated going in the morning. During the second game, he did very well and stole the ball twice and got two goals both times! He then got really pale and had an accident because the bathroom was sooo far away. From that day on, he was coming up with excuses as to why he couldn't play soccer. Either it was too cold, his legs were too tired, he had a stomache ache, etc. We decided that we weren't going to force it and we were not going to make him go anymore. We would try the last game. Well...he ended up breaking his arm, and was told he couldn't play...so he was happy!

Riley was helping outside.

Riley and Aiden...first day of summer vacation for Riley and Mommy!!! Yeah!!! We are so excited! I am still trying to talk them into sleeping in every morning!

Aiden got a new cast put on today! He also got good news. His bones seem to be healing fine! He does not have to have surgery. He also gets to bike now! He shouted, "YEAH!" when he heard that! His cast is water proof so he gets to swim, bathe, and go through the sprinkler. He will have this one removed on June 26th and then hopefully can have a normal summer like any other 4 year old!

Riley was drawing pictures of dinosaurs on Aiden's first cast. It was sooo cute. The doctors wanted to know if we wanted to keep this cast when they took it off today! Being that it smelled horribly bad...like a rotten band-aid, we said that they could throw it out! They kept asking if we were sure. We reassured them we didn't want to keep it. Is it normal to keep old casts??? I felt like a bad mom for throwing such a memory out...but I was proud of myself! Everyone knows how much "stuff" I keep! :)

Just a proud brotherly moment. I am pretty sure I bribed them with something to get this picture taken!

Aiden at my school, playing hide and seek!

Another proud brotherly moment and I know that i bribed them for this picture!!!
